March 22 – The Week of Humor!

Within our district, we have a block set just for Social and Emotional learning and conversations. This week is all about humor and how it helps us!

The first question – Do you believe we have a global sadness problem?

This intrigues me quite a bit – and I still can’t find the answer to this question.

I hate to look at the glass as just 1/2 full or 1/2 empty, and have always found the grey in between so many things.

I feel that many Americans have viewed the media the last year in a different way they have in their life time. The media, no matter which side of the fence you are on will always show the bad and terrible things headlining the great things going on in the world… Why? Well, sadly, our attention goes to negativity.

While driving through the neighborhood, have you ever pulled your car over when you saw someone picking up after their dog just to watch them? NOPE! Unless you are that kinda weird…

But now you see a police car parked in front of someone’s house… You put that thing in the lowest gear possible and grind the break like it is going out of style …

As for a Global sadness, I feel there will always be “sadness” in the world – just like death, disease, war, and the list of bad news goes on…

But there is also pro of this con… it’s happiness – new jobs, new homes, new families, new pets, winning awards, playing with friends… and this list, in my opinion, will always hold strength over the bad…

  1. My first question for them was, “What was the last thing that made you laugh so hard you almost cried?”. We were cracking up reading these. I’m trying to just stick with humor for fun this week and not walk on the dark side. My mental health can’t handle the week before break!
